Walking Mini Marathon in aid of Flood Victims - New date

Due to the bad waether the The Broomfield & District Residents Association invite 10K 'Walking Mini Marathon' was posponed in December.


A new date of on on Sunday 7th Feb. 2010 has been chosen. The Marathon will set out from Teach Raithneach Heritage and Cultural Centre, Starinagh, Collon at 2 p.m. proceeding to Old Mellifont Abbey and returning to Teach Raithneach for light refreshments. The Association are delighted to confirm that Eddie Downey, newly elected Deputy President of the Irish Farmers Association will officially launch the Mini Marathon on the day. We are very anxious to show our concern and support for the victims of flooding in our own country at this time. We would also appreciate any help you might be able to give us in disseminating this information. We are committed to this fundraiser at the moment and hope that it is successful.You can complete all or part of the walk.

All the proceeds will be going to help the victims of the recent flooding accross Ireland. We suggest a minimum donation of €10 per individual/family. Please support those in our own country who are experiencing extreme hardship at this time. Show your support for them by turning out on Sunday 7th and by making a contribution to this worthy cause.
